Shall we talk about public education in America for a bit?
If you know me, then you know the phrase, “Don’t get me started on school...”
In its tireless efforts to pull the wool over your kids’ eyes and teach them how to be complete spineless worms with no opinions what-so-ever that get walked on by their bosses, society, the libbys, and other nations like France, some new terms are being adopted by some schools and teachers across the country.
To combat the trauma that may be imposed on to the children when they are asked to write, paragraphs are now “brief constructed responses” and essays are now called “extended constructed responses.” Multiple-choice tests which were striking fear into the hearts of kids across the land are now known as “selected-response assessments.”
Rather than compare books, since, as we all know now, it is so very traumatizing to compare things to things because everyone must be a winner and there must be no losers, kids now do “text-to-text connections.”
My view is that instead of looking at how to make school 100% non challenging socially for these kids, these morons should actually be doing some teaching.
Want proof? I was going to quote the famous Shakespearean line about what roses are called here, but so that the average high-school graduate in America can understand it, I give you, “Yo, like ifen ya called a rose sumphin’ else, wouldn’t it still smell like a rose, yo?”
I think the quote from a high school senior in Maryland who was exposed to this nonsense libby jargon says it best... “It’s like renaming prison ‘The Happy Fun Place.’”
